Re: Case Statement

Thanks for that I will keep that in mind. I found a lunar lander program written in SDLBASIC on the UNIX machine, and it seems like a very simple convert to SmartBASIC. (It's even a simple conversion to TechBASIC, but I've already committed myself to do the conversion and smart basics first.) It com...

Creating a READ / DATA construct is an interesting thought, but it implies modifying the sB program during runtime. Would be fun :o
I think so (since I built my own computer from a Raspberry PI, the Systems Programmer in me is coming back out)

Re: A versatile clipboard

In the Weatherman App I am writing that calls (runs) multiple programs, this is exactly how I use the CLIPBOARD — I create a message string and then use the SPLIT after reading it to separate the fields into their variables, exactly like your code. I think I mentioned in the other post that numeric ...

Re: IBM mainframe 360/30 vs. iPad 2019

I had to run the program 32 times to get any errors, and this is my first screen with errors:

Re: IBM mainframe 360/30 vs. iPad 2019

Duh, I forgot to replace the Function.

Here it is, I changed the font size so it fits in one screen: SET OUTPUT FONT SIZE 12

This is what I get.

Re: Case Statement

Hey Matt, I actually like this solution to an alternative for the CASE statement, except there's one problem – what happens if dayno is anything but 0 through 6? This is great if that could never happen, but a true CSE statement will have a catchall or an else bucket for conditions that will never m...

Re: IBM mainframe 360/30 vs. iPad 2019

Talking about inconveniences: before the 3th generation 360/30, i learned programming on a 2nd generation IBM 1620, which had punched papertape as I/O and intermediate storage. You had to be able to "read" the 5-bit code on the tape, in order to make local corrections in it, using a little perforat...

Re: IBM mainframe 360/30 vs. iPad 2019

I tried both programs and on my iPad Pro 10.5 Inch running iOS 10.3.3, rbytes code just says "Finished" and Henko's code it displays 0.276392.

I do not get the matrix rbytes gets.

Re: IBM mainframe 360/30 vs. iPad 2019

I remember having to program punch card machines and other devices using Black wire boards with different colored and different length wires that acted as compascitors, resistors, switches, etc. And Assembler F was the main language that OS/HASP was written in. Some real good memories! (And don't fo...

Re: Update to Smart Basic?

Hi Henk, Just so I can clarify but I position is, I am only suggesting that instead of putting source in either Dropbox or here in the Forum, our source/files can be stored in places that already exist for that purpose and are acceptable to Apple, like GITHUB or SOURCEFORGE. The platform will still ...
